The JACS Employment Action Plan for People with Disability (the Plan) sets out strategies that will increase the Directorate's number of employees with disability and keep them employed within the ACT Public Service (ACTPS). The ACTPS is committed to being an employer of choice for people from diverse backgrounds.

The Plan builds on the ACTPS Respect, Equity and Diversity Framework and ACTPS Employment Strategy for People with Disability.

In 2006, Reconciliation Australia launched a new program to progress reconciliation between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and other Australians by creating workplaces where everyone is included, valued and understood. In this context, the JACS RAP complements the aims of the ACT Government’s Respect, Equity and Diversity (RED) Framework and a number of actions under the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Justice Agreement.
The RAP is a tool to help improve the directorate’s engagement, consultation and partnerships with our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff, clients and stakeholders. It sets out how JACS can contribute to “closing the gap”. …

In 2017 the Justice and Community Safety Directorate (JACS) conducted a review of the ACT Official Visitors Scheme. The report was finalised in November 2017 and is available here. The review found that the Official Visitor Scheme was a valuable scheme and that official visitors are highly trusted by clients and service providers alike. The review also identified some areas for improvement, which are discussed in the report. JACS would like to thank everyone who engaged with the review process.
